Publicity Campaign: Jam on Raw Dough - ‘Breathe’ (Album)

Jam On Raw Dough share their new album ‘Breathe’, out 7 April.

Built from a wide emotional and sonic spectrum, ‘Breathe’ moves between vulnerability and release, never forcing a single concept or aesthetic. Instead, the record plays like a series of snapshots, each song capturing a different headspace, from anxiety and grief through to escapism, comfort, and defiant joy.

Following the release of the title track ‘Breathe’, which gave listeners a glimpse of the project’s brighter, forward-moving energy, the full album expands the frame, tracing the emotional ground beneath the optimism and the moments of release that sit alongside it.

At the core of Jam On Raw Dough is songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Javier, whose approach begins with two separate worlds, lyrics and melody, developed on their own timelines before finally clicking into place. Notebook pages of ideas and emotions meet a phone “graveyard” of chord progressions and riffs, sometimes taking months or years to align. Once the blueprint is clear, recording begins, but the production remains fluid, shaped by experimentation and whatever is on heavy rotation at the time.

The result is an album that feels lived-in and unpolished in the best way, honest music made without pretence. What began as a personal outlet during COVID has since evolved into a full band with Russ, Christian, and Alex, with that same sincerity still driving the project.

Sonically, Jam On Raw Dough’s sound comes from a place of letting go, where influence shows up naturally rather than being chased. Across ‘Breathe’, threads of Filipino OPM, Brazilian samba and bossa nova, jazz, and rock weave through the production, always in service of the lyric.

Focus track ‘Blue Balloon’ is a standout, sparked by a family trip to Fiji and a photo of Jordan’s son holding a balloon. The song reflects on childhood possibilities and the boundaries that can limit it, drawing on the Filipino street game patintero as a metaphor for the lines society and family can draw around young lives.

From the spontaneous escapism of ‘Holiday’ to the heavy stillness of ‘Silence in the Air’, the album holds space for grief, growth, and the small moments that shape us. ‘Breathe’ is an invitation to connect with something real, music made by people who genuinely love playing together.
