KIT GENESIS

KIT GENESIS 〰️

Kit Genesis (they/them) is a Naarm-based alt-indie artist writing songs that sit at the intersection of tenderness and grit, tracing queer identity, selfhood, and the emotional complexity of becoming. Their work moves between intimate balladry and immersive indie rock, grounded in lyricism that favours vivid imagery over exposition, and storytelling that feels lived-in rather than performative.

After unveiling their debut EP ‘Romanticism’ (2024), Kit’s songwriting has continued to deepen, shifting from capturing immediate life events to exploring memory, embodiment, and the quieter moments that shape who we are. Their latest releases lean into a softer kind of intensity, holding space for nostalgia, wonder, and the push and pull between adulthood and freedom, with a writing style influenced by their connection to community and their work alongside children.

On stage, Kit Genesis has built steady momentum across Naarm and beyond, with recent highlights including support slots for Kat Edwards, Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird, Nate Faker, and Hannah Brewer, plus a set at Queenscliff Festival. With more music on the horizon, Kit Genesis continues to carve out a world that feels intimate, unguarded, and quietly fearless.
