The year of Lara Villani has just begun, with the first of five singles being released from her debut EP ‘Whiplash’. ‘I love it’, is a track that captures the thrill of unexpected connections and the beauty of spontaneity. Following the success of her earlier releases, including ‘Ghost of You’ and ‘Fire’, Lara continues to carve out her space in Australia’s music scene, offering a sound that is as authentic as it is evolving.

‘I love it’ explores the rush of spontaneous interaction, those moments that catch you off guard and remind you of life’s unpredictability. With layered production and introspective lyricism, the track offers a snapshot of Lara’s artistic growth, blending her storytelling prowess with a refined sonic palette.

Reflecting on the track, Lara shares, “‘I love it’ captures that rush of an unexpected spark, when something you never saw coming turns out to be exactly what you needed. It’s about embracing the excitement of the unknown and realising that sometimes the best things happen when you least expect them.”

The music video supporting ‘I love it’ takes viewers into the world of Lara, stepping behind the scenes at the photoshoot, showcasing the fun enjoyment had on set fostered by the creative team of Hunger Digital - filmed by Louise McKnoulty, edited by Laura Semple.

Lara’s previous release ‘Fire’ saw her sell out her debut show at Nighthawks in Collingwood and has also garnered widespread media attention, with features in publications such as Rolling Stone Australia, Happy Mag, Futuremag Music, and Buzz Music. Her track ‘Fire’ was spotlighted as one of the Best Australian Music of the Week by Rolling Stone Australia and praised for its raw emotion and sonic evolution by Buzz Music. Her work has also been championed by Sounds of Oz, Out in Perth and Triple J solidifying her reputation as an Australian artist to watch. 

This release is part of Lara’s debut EP, ‘Whiplash’, a collection of songs that navigate love, identity, and self-discovery themes. The EP represents a significant milestone for Lara, offering a cohesive narrative that invites listeners into her world of storytelling.
